All you need is a little faith!

There are several verses in Scripture that prove we only need to have faith to be saved. Ephesians 2:8-9 is one of my favorite. It states, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— “*.  This means there is no act we can do on earth, no amount of good works or charity that will save us from eternity without our Creator. All we need to do is believe Him and in Him.

God is kind, and God is love. Without Him, we would not know kindness or love. The good Lord gave us a way to escape Hell. He gave us Jesus Christ–the gift of salvation. Faith according to Hebrews 11 is “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see…”* This is truly all we need.

It’s hard to accept this free gift because we live in a jaded world where kindness isn’t seen unless someone is expecting something in return. We know who lords over this earth–the sin we see each day are symptoms of the darkness that rules here. But please do not be discouraged–you are worth it, you are worth loving, you are worth dying for. God gave his only Son so that you may have eternal life (John 3:16). Just accept his gift and breathe a sigh of relief! Ahhhh. Feels good doesn’t it?

Following Jesus forever and living the way God wants us to live is so freeing. Having faith in God means I don’t need to worry about the future–whatever comes my way. It means I don’t need to keep up with the Joneses’ or try to people-please. He showed me grace, and you too–it is amazing how life-changing it is to accept His gift.
